The scariest movie in my life

Hellow everyone, I finally installed Internet in my new apt. Now, I can post on time.

I want to write about the scariest movie that I have seen before.

The name of movie is 'The shining' directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick who was born in 1928 in New York. I’m not a big fan of horror movie but I saw it because of the director. He is one of my favorite and genius director. This movie made in 1980 and was based on the novel ‘Shining’ written by Stephen King. Jack Nicholson was the main character ‘Jack’ and he gave a great performance as a mad man.

A writer, Jack, get a job as a caretaker at Overlook hotel, which is in Colorado Mountain. That hotel need caretaker because during winter they can’t run hotel because of the strong snowstorm. Only Jack’ family have to stay in the hotel. The hotel manager said repulsive story to Jack. Few years ago, before caretaker, Grady killed his wife and twin daughter and killed himself. The dead body found next spring. At that moment he doesn’t care about that story.
The family is locked in the hotel by a snowstorm. They try to adapt to the new surroundings. His son, Danny, has psychic abilities that can see past and future and he start to see a twin sister. At the same time a supernatural force gradually influences Jack. He is getting mad! His son figures it out and tries to escape from Jack with his mother. But Jack already loses his mind and tries to kill his family.

This film described bottomless isolation in the huge place and psychological pressure. Kubrick use new shooting techniques called “Steady cam.” This filming technique makes screen calm, orderly and beautiful. Although screen is beautiful, we feel strong paranoid and music make us tired because of the strong tension. It is better to focus on production techniques rather than content. Kubrick very well knows what situation make people feel a sensation of fear.

The reason I live

Time goes so fast. I’ve been NY already 8 month. I miss my parents. ;(

I was born in 1988 in Jeju Island. My parents are still living in beautiful Island but I moved out to Seoul because of university. Hum. I got used to live alone. What an independent woman! Ha-ha.

My father is a dentist. I have a great regard for him. He provides a valuable community service with my mother such as a free medical examination. My mom is pharmacist. They met in medical services club to do volunteering when they were in university. That is so nice, isn’t it? My mother works in hospital. My brother and I was young, she had own pharmacy in our house. She raised us all by herself. I have a younger brother who studies in MIT. His major is physics. I’m so proud of my brother. He never disappoints our parents. Sometimes I feel he is my big brother. Ha! I’m an only person in my family want to work in art industry. Because my family’s major are natural sciences. My mother is big reason that I choose painting to my major. She wanted to be a painter but my grandmother wanted to keep studying.

I’m an eldest daughter and it is hard to live as an eldest child. I had been lost my way during an adolescent period. I gave my parents a hard time. I don’t think I was good daughter. But my parents always believed, supported and loved me. And they still give to me boundless love. They are always being there for me. Although my brother and I live in U.S.A, we are always connect together. I appreciate that I’m a daughter of my parents.

This is our family ring. Mine and my brother's. All my family member have this ring with their initial. I'm always wearing this ring and think my family. It makes our bond strong.

Long story short, there was a shoemaker, who worked very hard, kind and honest. But he couldn't earn enough money. One day morning he woke up and sat himself down to his work. But the shoes all ready made. two little naked dwarfs came down and helped good man. And obviously it's happy ending. Anyway..

Why am I talk about this?
Because..I also need that naked dwarfs to pack my stuffs. tomorrow morning everything will be set up. hahaha... my desire.

Oh, really cold outside. I born in December but I hate winter. Finally harsh winter came to New York City! I have to go to sleep..Time is running out! It's almost 4 am.
